Dear Shoesmith Second Graders & Families,
My name is Ms. Hassberger and I am so excited for this year! I graduated from Michigan State University and had the honor of completing my student-teaching last year at Shoesmith. This will be my first year teaching 2nd grade at the Hive. After completing my student-teaching, I worked as a substitute teacher at Shoesmith, so I am lucky to have already met many of you. I was drawn to the Shoesmith community for the positivity and excitement for learning the staff and scholars share. I could not be more thrilled to be back at the Hive! Each of your scholars is unique and deserves a motivating environment where they can grow academically, mentally, physically, and emotionally. My goal is to create a safe and positive environment for your scholars to be themselves and enjoy learning to its fullest.
Outside of school I enjoy hiking, reading, crafting, spending time with my family and friends, and swimming whenever I get the chance. Music is also a big part of my life, so I look forward to bringing in my instruments from time to time to share that passion with your scholars.
Communication and building strong relationships are very important to me, so you will receive many updates throughout the year through the Remind App. I encourage you to reach out with any questions or concerns. My hope is that we can work together as a team to provide the best support possible for your scholars. My email is linked down below for easy access.
YAY! We are so close Honeybees! As this summer comes to a close I want to remind you of the summer assignments posted below. I appreciate you working with your scholars on these assignments and reading with them daily. I look forward to an excellent year of learning, growing, and exploring with the AMAZING 2nd graders at the Hive.
I hope you have a safe and enjoyable rest of your summer!
Warmly,
Ms. Kaitlyn Hassberger (Ms. H)
