Dear Shoesmith Third Graders & Families,
Welcome to Third Grade! I am so excited to have all of you. This will be my second year teaching at Shoesmith. After I graduated from Michigan State, I was lucky enough to complete my Internship year in 4th grade right here at Shoesmith, so I may look familiar! As I’m sure you can understand, I knew that Shoesmith was where I was meant to be, and I am so excited to be lucky enough to be a Honey Bee with you all.
For this summer, we are asking students to complete some activities to prepare for third grade. First, we are asking students to work on the Step Up to Third Grade math packet. This packet will give students an opportunity to practice many skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and much more. Second, we are asking students to read a chapter book of their choosing. Students can go to Epic.com and type chapter books in the search box. Students can then pick a chapter book at their reading level. Students should complete the accompanying activities including a summary and book review.
Communication is very important to me, so please do not hesitate to reach me via email, as well as through the classroom Remind App. On Remind, I will send out individual and general classroom messages/announcements, so please be sure to join that as soon as possible.
