CPS VOLUNTEER POLICY
Any parent who is interested in volunteering at Shoesmith this school year, MUST complete the online volunteer application. Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to: chaperoning field trips, working with students during the school day, helping in your child’s classroom, working with students after school for events/activities/clubs, etc. Any adult who has not completed the application process will not be able to participate in volunteer opportunities.

Wednesday, November 17th - Quarter 1 Report Card Pick-up
Non-attendance day for students
In-person time slots: 11AM-2PM & 5PM-6PM
Virtual time slots: 2PM-3PM & 4PM-5PM
Parents: Communication has been sent to sign-up for your preferred time slot via Remind. Parents must have an appointment. No walk-ins.
Sign Up to Receive Important School-wide Communication
Shoesmith will continue to use Remind, school-wide, for the 2020-2021 school year! If you're not already familiar with Remind, it's a classroom and school communication tool that makes it easy to stay involved with your child's learning. Remind is free to use, and you'll be able to get and send messages on any device—even a simple text from your phone!
As part of this rollout, we are having parents join Shoesmith Remind by visiting https://www.remind.com/join/shoesmithe.

ASPEN PARENT PORTAL
Parent portal allows parents to access their child's grades and attendance records. You can view scores to individual assignments and see which assignments your child is missing.
Procedure to Sign up for Parent Portal
1. Email AP Keine to request a Parent Portal account. In your email, please include your child(ren) name, grade level, and your preferred email address to use with your Parent Portal account.
2. Once your email address is entered into our system, Aspen will send you an email to set up an account. Directions will be provided in the email you receive.
3. Visit: aspen.cps.edu to sign into Parent Portal
