Dear Shoesmith Fourth Graders & Families,
My name is Ms. Lehner and I am thrilled to begin another year at Shoesmith as the Fourth Grade Literacy and Social Studies teacher! The 2024-2025 school year will be my eighth year teaching. I attended Michigan State University and completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a focus in Literacy and completed my student teaching at Shoesmith. I then worked at a nearby elementary school before returning to The Hive 5 years ago!
I have a passion for teaching Literacy and Social Studies. Learning how to read, write and think critically are skills that young scholars will use and need for the rest of their lives. I have high expectations for myself as an educator and hold my students to high expectations as well! It is important that we work as a team to guide our scholars through this new school year. Communication is vital and I keep parents updated by using the Remind App! I urge you to reach out with any questions and concerns as well!
As we rest and relax this summer to prepare for the fall I want to remind all parents and students that we are a TEAM and we will all work together to make it an engaging and meaningful experience in fourth grade! I cannot wait to meet everyone in the fall!
Sincerely,
Ms. Emma Lehner
