Welcome to Room 202!
Ms. Hasberger's 5th Grade Classroom
Dear Scholars and Families,
As we embark on a new school year, I am thrilled to welcome you and your scholar to my 5th Grade Literacy and Social Studies class! My name is Ms. Hassberger (most commonly referred to as Ms. H) and I am excited to be entering my second year teaching at Shoesmith where I have had the privilege of being a part of the school community for three years. Over the past two years, I have had the excellent opportunity to work with 2nd and 4th graders. These experiences have provided me with invaluable insights into the unique learning styles and developmental stages of young minds. I am particularly passionate about teaching upper elementary students because of the incredible growth and creativity they possess.
When I am not in the classroom, you can find me pursuing various hobbies and interests. Nature is my happy place and I find every opportunity to hike to new places, try new water activities, and snowboard during the gloomy winter months. I am an avid music lover and enjoy finding ways to bring music and instruments into the classroom space. But above all, my love for reading and writing has been a constant companion throughout my life. Books have the power to transport us to new worlds, spark our curiosity, and ignite our own passions. I look forward to exploring the unique perspectives and voices of your scholars as they critically think, collaborate, and create this year.
Communication and building strong relationships are very important to me, so you will receive many updates throughout the year through the Remind App. Your insights and observations are invaluable to me. If you have any information about your scholar's learning preferences, strengths, challenges, or personal circumstances that you would like me to know, please do not hesitate to share. I encourage you to reach out with any questions or concerns! My hope is that we can work together as a team to provide the best support possible for your scholars. I look forward to partnering with you to create a rich and meaningful educational experience for you scholar. Please add me on Remind via the class code @h-rm202.
Here’s to a year of growth, learning, and memorable moments.
Warmly,
Ms. Kaitlyn Hassberger
